HyproTM reactive liquid polymers are used in construction applications as moisture resistant and crack bridging epoxy membranes/coatings. CTBN (carboxyl terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile) and ATBN (amine terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile) type reactive liquid polymers may be used as elastomeric modifiers imparting toughness or flexibility to such epoxy compositions. In addition, CTBN may be used in preparing an elastomer modified vinyl ester applicable as chemical resistant, concrete coatings. Reactive liquid polymer modified epoxy resins excel in adhering to less than ideally prepared substrates.
HyproTM reactive liquid polymers may be used at toughening levels to enhance crack propagation resistance or flexibilizing levels to significantly alter the elongation characteristic of the thermoset resin system.
| Resin matrix: | Recommended RLP: | Typical benefits: |
|---|---|---|
| Epoxy | CTBN, CTBNX | Enhances flexibility /toughness |
| ATBN | Increases low temperature mechanical properties | |
| Vinyl esters | VTBNX, CTBN | Improves long-term cyclical durability |
| CTBNX | Improves adhesion to difficult to bond to substrates | |
| Increases impact or crack resistance |
